We will tackle longstanding problems with courage and resolve, and break the impediments of vested interests to carry reform through.

中國經(jīng)濟是一片大海，而不是一個小池塘。大海有風平浪靜之時，也有風狂雨驟之時。狂風驟雨可以掀翻小池塘，但不能掀翻大海。經(jīng)歷了無數(shù)次狂風驟雨，大海依舊在那兒！經(jīng)歷了5000多年的艱難困苦，中國依舊在這兒！面向未來，中國將永遠在這兒！
To use a metaphor, China’s economy is not a pond, but an ocean. The ocean certainly has its calm days, but also times of gales and storms. Gales and storms may ravage a pond, but never an ocean. Whatever the gales and storms, the ocean is still there. It is the same for China. After 5,000 years of trials and tribulations, China is still here. Looking ahead, China will always be here.

We need to promote development through opening up, and enhance exchanges and cooperation. We need to stick together rather than drifting apart. We need to tear down walls rather than erecting them. We need to stand firm against protectionism and unilateralism. We need to continually bring down trade barriers, upgrade global value and supply chains, and jointly create market demand.
